Solar industry in India is witnessing a high growth rate YoY. Along with MNCs, there are lot of startups emerging to serve this relatively new industry in India. This directly increases the need for skilled manpower who can jump into action immediately after hiring. But is there a skilled man power who has got this domain knowledge ? Are companies getting the right talent ?

In our previous post, we gave some tips on how to kickstart the career in solar energy. Here we are listing out some of the institutions in India, that are offering courses on Solar Energy that can solve the above questions, by creating skilled manpower whcih is required for this booming industry.

  1. National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE)

National Institute of Solar Energy is an autonomous institution of Ministry of New and Renewable (MNRE), and is the apex National R&D institution in the field Solar Energy. The Government of India has converted 25 year old Solar Energy Centre (SEC) under MNRE to an autonomous institution in September, 2013 to assist the Ministry in implementing the National Solar Mission and to coordinate research, technology, skill development, training, consultancy, incubation and other related works.  NISE offers courses on solar energy that can be attended by anyone who is interested in the field. 2. Gujarat Energy Research & Management Institute (GERMI)

GERMI is a centre of excellence in industry learning and has set up to develop human resource assets to cater to the petroleum and allied energy sectors, improve knowledge base of policy makers and technologists and provide a competitive edge to leaders to compete in the global arena.

3. National Centre for Photovoltaic Research and Education (NCPRE)

NCPRE at IIT Bombay was launched in 2010 as a part of the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission of the Government of India. The objective of the centre is to be the one of the leading PhotoVoltaic (PV) research and education centres in the world within the next decade. The centre is located at IIT Bombay which has a strong tradition of interdisciplinary activity and is thereby uniquely suited to take up this challenge.

4. Indian Institute of Science (IISc)

5. Gujarat Institute of Solar Energy (GISE)

GISE is an ISO 9001:2008 certified educational institute. GISE is providing technical training Programs on Solar energy and established to support organization who is looking for the individual those who are looking for self employment. 6. Global Sustainable Energy Solutions India (GSES)

GSES is an organisation in renewable energy engineering, training and consultancy. 7. Renewable Energy Centre Mithradham

Mithradham is an Institutional Partner of the International Society for the Promotion of Environment and Renewable Energy ISPERE consisting of an informal group of committed experts. IST is an academic and research-oriented & Entrepreneurship Development institute, A registered trademark division of GATE Trust, an ISO 9001:2008 certified Autonomous Institute Registered under NCT New Delhi, Govt. of India that has worked with partnership of companies, organizations, community development associations and sociological research institutes.
